The disciplines necessary to succeed in advertising have been
applied effectively to fine art. "Problem solving is a common
thread (actually more like a rope) though all areas of graphic
expression," according to Dillard.
Exhibits have included a one-man show at The Blackland Gallery,
exhibits at the Merritt Art Studio Gallery and Griffith Fine Art
Gallery in Salado and Rutherford's Gallery in Dallas.
He conducts workshops featuring the "copyist" method
of instruction. The method has proven very effective and beneficial
to students because it accelerates their acquisition of skills
in areas of color, composition, drawing and facilitation of the
oil media.
