Gene Dillard's painting
style favors the master portraiture of John Singer Sergeant and
William Merritt Chase. He has studied these gifted painters in
museum exhibits throughout the US and in London. A graduate of
the Art Center School in Los Angeles, Dillard finds portrait
painting to be the ultimate expression of drawing and painting
skills. Recent portraits have portrayed children, senior adults,
business executives, brides, and ancestor tributes. Settings
portrayed are either formal or candid. He views portraiture as
